Our Standard Crowderframe Kits (shown on pages 22–23) and the above modification kits are for standard 2" x 4" wall construction. Our Crowderframe "2 x 6 Shim Kit" Modification allows for our standard Type "B" or "C" Crowderframe kits to be used in 2" x 6" wall construction.

Our Crowderframe "2 x 6 Shim Kit", in addition to our standard Crowderframe kits includes: two 1" [25.4mm] x 1-3/8" [34.9mm] x 96" [2438mm] Plywood Shims for header track, two extra wide foot brackets, and longer screws for fastening uprights to header. This shim kit will provide an overall width from upright to upright of 5-5/8" [143mm].

Shim kit quantities are modified to suit "Double Door" (two shim kits required) and "Extra Width" kits as required.

Load Capacity:

  • TYPE C CROWDERFRAME with "2 x 6 SHIM KIT" = 150lbs per door
  • TYPE B CROWDERFRAME with "2 x 6 SHIM KIT" = 125lbs per door
